DCLW Decanter centrifuge is driven by two motors. The main motor drives the drum and the outer casing of differential through belts while the auxiliary motor, after the differential shifting speed, drives the spiral propeller. This will make the drum and the spiral propeller rotate in the same direction with a certain differential speed.

Decanter centrifuge are used to process unweighted and weighted, water-based and oil-based drilling fluids (muds). Today we shipped a set of DCLW350-1200 decanter centrifuge to pakistan used for wastewater treatment. The dewatering decanter centrifuge is designed for easy separation material include large particle size, high density difference of solid and liquid, low viscosity, high concentration, high treatment capacity and higher dryness than clarity. The materials like sludge or wastewater containing fine particles usually need to be added with flocculants to gather the fine particles condensed into large ones, and then dewatered with DCLW series decanter centrifuge.

Such decanter centrifuge applies to solid liquid separation of suspension liquids with solid phase particle equivalent diameter ≥ 3μm, weight concentration ratio ≤10%, volume concentration ratio ≤70% or solid liquid density difference ≥0.05g/cm . As we know, electric motor is the power source of all equipment, it is the most important part in every equipment.

Now our explosion-proof motor used in decanter centrifuge and spare parts have already delivered. It is a 37 kw main drive and delivery to Kazakhstan. A main drive motor supplies power to turn the centrifuge.

The clients purchased our DCLW360 VFD centrifuge and want to purchase a motor to replaced, 360VFD centrifuge is a variable frequency centrifuge and with the high speed, so it has the high requirements for explosion-proof motor.

The main centrifuge drive is usually an electrical mounted on slider on the frame or sub-frame and connected to the centrifuge drive pulley with V-belts. A purpose built belt guard will cover the two pulleys and belts. Motors on the larger decanters can consume a few hundred kilowatts of power. Such large motors are more often directly mounted on the floor, in which case a special belt-tensioning device is incorporated to allow for the differential movement of the rotating assembly.

The main motor has to accelerate a high inertial load on start-up. when the bowl is at speed, the main motor has to provide the power to accelerate the process material up to speed, the power for scrolling the cake, and most of the braking power for the back-drive system.

Before centrifuge and Hydrocyclone input oil drilling solid control can control drilling fluid solid phase content method only has shale shaker and dilution.

So the small particles can’t be eliminated by shale shaker only according dilute to control the solid phase content. In the process of using aggravating drilling fluid, if the solid phase content reach to the maximum volume and drilling cuttings constantly enter into drilling fluid, it needs continual replenish pure water to control drilling fluid viscosity.

At the same time need add barites to control drilling fluid density, so will produce the surplus drilling fluid, the processing cost is expensive.

In order to solve the problem, horizontal spiral sedimentation centrifuge begin used in solid control system and gradually become the important solid control equipment.

When centrifuge operate, the drum high speed rotate, drilling fluid enter into the drum according centrifugal pump, because the effect of centrifugal force improve the suspended solid phase sedimentation speed and separation efficiency, drilling fluid obtain rapidly solid-liquid separation.

At present, in horizontal solid control process, drilling fluid centrifuge is deemed to the last processing equipment. Shale shaker and hydrocyclone is used to separate and eliminate big drilling cuttings, centrifuge is used to separate and eliminate small particles and supper fine particles, this is the big difference of centrifuge, shale shaker and hydrocyclone.

Using centrifuge eliminate can increase viscosity and shearing force, and also can recover more value big size aggravating solid phase.
