Shale shaker is vital to the solids control system and is considered the “first line of defense”. Shale shakers act by removing solids from drilling fluid as the mud passes over the surface of a vibrating screen. Particles smaller than the openings in the screen pass through the holes of the screen along with the liquid phase of the mud. Particles too large to pass through the screen are thereby separated from the mud for disposal. Without proper screening of the drilling fluid during this initial removal step, downstream equipment will experience reduced efficiency and effectiveness. The downstream hydrocyclones and/or centrifuges (if elected) will simply be overloaded beyond their design capacity.

Desander is solids control equipment with a set of desander cyclone to separate sand from drilling mud in drilling rigs&peroid; Yesterday, DC Solid control shipped a set of desander mud tank system to Malaysia clients used for building construction field.

DC desander is the second class and the third class solid control equipment to treat the drilling fluid. According to the size of the cone diameter, it is divided into Desander and Desilter. Usually the cone diameter is more than 6″is called Desander, and used as the second-control equipment in drilling operation. We commonly used 8 “and 10″ cones desander to separate solid-phase particle size 47-76μm in the drilling fluids.

The reason to use desander unit is that building constructio in common soil with the presence of water table, generally require the use of a short temporary steel casing and a drilling fluid as static suspension to provide support to the surrounding soil while excavating the pile and until complete backfill of the pile excavation with concrete, in order to prevent cave-in of the excavation and destabilizing the surrounding soil formation. A desilter is a centrifugal device for removing very fine particles or silt from drilling fluid to keep the amount of solids in the fluid at the lowest possible point.Desilters and desanders remove fine particles, or small solids, to keep them from contaminating the drilling mud.

Usually the cone diameter is less than 6″is called Desilter, and used as the third-control equipment in drilling operation.
